Publishing list of positions on a website (web portal, company intranet, etc) can be accomplished with a help of RSS feeds from TalentAdore VRA system. All it takes to publish positions is an URL.
RSS feed URL for a list of currently active positions is available from the "Positions" page from "RSS feed".
On the overlay that appears, you can select which positions should be included in the feed with checkboxes and inputs. You can use different combinations of internal/external positions, languages and tags to create multiple feeds. Logical AND is used between criteria, and OR for one criterium elements.
In the illustration above a link for a feed of all design positions (but not summer jobs), using Finnish language, has been created.
Radio buttons change what contents will be included in the feed entries. By default only job description is provided for each feed entry. It is possible to include the whole job ad. Also, position tags are always included in the feed. If Tags and other categories has been chosen instead, feed will contain extra classification categories such as reason for vacancy and ISCO job title (if mol.fi integration is in use). Classifications are distinguished by domain attribute of the category element of the feed. Other classifications can be added in the future to support syndication needs of the career pages. Please, note, that classifications work better if a single language has been chosen for the feed.
After making required settings, copy the URL and paste it into the publishing system's feed settings.
If there is a need for several feeds, change the settings and copy-paste the new URL.
The feed contains job's name and description, location, application period starting and ending dates, tags, and the link to the job ad. Note that the dates and times are in UTC and may need to be converted to the right timezone in the publishing system.
The RSS feed data can be seen by everyone with the feed URL. Precautions should be made to prevent publishing feed URL or feed contents in case limited distribution is wanted, for example, with internal positions.
Please note, that TalentAdore VRA system updates the feed as frequently as it is fetched, so make sure feed-fetching configuration in the publishing system has acceptable refresh interval. If it feels that positions-content is stale on the website, check the frequency feed is fetched or caching rule, whatever applies to your content publishing system. We recommend feed fetching interval to be half an hour or more.
In order to get the same information in JSON form, replace the "/rss" to "/json" in the feed URL. JSON feed contents can be examined in a text editor after downloading JSON-contents and applying JSON-beautifier (several free online services can be found) to the otherwise compact JSON.
