Positions published at TalentAdore are fetched and updated to your organization’s career page automatically with the help of RSS or JSON feeds. These feed types are used to publish content that is frequently updated. In this section, we explain how the RSS/JSON feed builder works in TalentAdore.
You can access the RSS feed builder by clicking “RSS feed” button on the top right corner on the “Positions” page. This builder supports JSON feeds as well.
Creating a number of different RSS feeds is very easy. All you need to do is choose what filters and tags you would like to include in you RSS feed and what parts of the job ad you’d like to be visible in the feed. The URL link in the lower part of the dialogue illustrated below is updated automatically based on your modifications.
When you are ready, copy the URL link and paste it to your company’s RSS feed reader. Typically, this is done by the IT department. You can create multiple feeds (for different career pages using different languages), just remember to copy paste each RSS feed URL link separately.
To get the same information from a JSON-feed, simply replace the “/rss” with “/json” in the URL link of the RSS feed.
Filters
Filters are used to determine which positions are fetched to the feed and, consequently, your career page.
When you select “External positions”, the feed will fetch all external positions. The same rule applies to “Internal positions” (you can mark a position as “Internal” when creating a new position.) This is how you’re able to create a feed that includes only internal positions on your intra page, for example.
Language selection allows you to decide which positions should be in the feed, based on position language. For instance, if your company has English and Finnish versions of career pages, you can create two feeds that fetch only English or Finnish positions. By selecting multiple languages at once, you’ll get an RSS feed including all of those languages.
Tags
You can tag positions in “Positions” page. Open the dropdown menu from the right-hand side of the selected position and click “Tag position”.
You can categorize the positions with tags (e.g. use the tag “marketing” for all marketing-related positions). To get the feed including only marketing-related positions, simply choose the tag “Marketing” from “Include tags” field. You can also exclude positions with certain tags by using “Exclude tags” field.
Contents
In the “contents” section of the feed builder you’re able to determine which parts of the position are visible in the feed. It is up to you to decide whether you would like to see only the heading of the position or do you want to fetch also the description, or the complete job ad.
In this section, you also choose if the feed should fetch only tags or other categories as well. Other categories are “Reason for vacancy” (specified while creating a new position) and ISCO code (used in Mol.fi).
Images
You can now choose which images are going to be included in the feed (logo, header or both) For this, a query string parameter can be added to the feed as “&image=logo”.
You are able to create feeds completely matching your needs by utilizing the feed builder.
