Occasionally there is a need to mark a rejected candidate as handled, without sending a feedback message. Candidate might already have received the feedback via phone call or face to face, and the recruiter doesn’t want to send an additional message. In this guide, we explain how to handle this type of rejection.
“Reject without feedback” feature allows you to reject a candidate and mark the recruitment process as handled without sending an email. This feature can be found in the upper right corner of “Candidate” view, as illustrated below.
Remember that when using this feature, the candidates can’t evaluate their candidate experience and leave feedback to recruiters.
While doing a quick rejection, a short note should be added that will serve as a reminder about why the candidate was rejected in this way (see the picture below).
After leaving the note and clicking “Mark as handled”, the system considers the recruitment process with that particular candidate as finished. The reason for the quick rejection is shown in the “Candidate view”, under “Overview”.
Note that TalentAdore team strongly believes in providing feedback to each candidate. “Reject without feedback” feature is not built to leave candidates uninformed about the outcome of their recruitment process.
Also, drawbacks of the “Reject without feedback” should be considered: when using this feature, candidates are not given any written records stating the recruitment results and they can’t leave their candidate experience evaluation.
If you want to ask feedback from the candidates, use the “Feedback already given verbally” feature in the “Feedback” tab in the “Candidate” view after you have clicked the “Reject without feedback” button, or instead of it. Read more about the Feedback templates here.
